NDC summons Chiana Paga MP over “Thank You tour” comments

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has summoned the Member of Parliament for Chiana Paga, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, to appear before its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) following comments he made in a television interview that did not sit well with the party leadership.

In a letter dated September 29, 2025, the party’s national secretariat noted that a widely circulated video recording from GHOne TV captured the MP questioning the rationale for a “thank you tour” undertaken by the party leadership in his constituency. The MP was also said to have made other remarks that raised concerns within the party.

The letter, signed by the NDC’s Director of Administration, Emmanuel Zumakpeh, directed Mr Alamzy to appear before the FEC on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, to provide clarification and further explanation.

The party also copied the Regional Chairman of the NDC in the Upper East, the Constituency Chairman of Chiana Paga, and the Majority Leader in Parliament, inviting them to accompany the MP for the meeting.
