Ghanaian Reggae/Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has claimed that officers from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) stormed his residence armed, in what he described as a politically motivated and unnecessary operation.
Taking to Facebook on Thursday, August 5, 2025, the outspoken musician pointed fingers directly at EOCO’s Executive Director, Raymond Archer, accusing him of masterminding the incident.
“Raymond Archer EOCO BOSS, Ibe you go make NDC go out of power next 4yrs. Bringing guns to my house was uncalled for !!!” he wrote.
Shatta Wale, who did not provide additional context or specifics about the nature of EOCO’s visit, hinted at political undertones, suggesting the action could damage the image of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2028 general elections.
His explosive claim has sparked widespread public speculation, with social media platforms flooded with questions about what might have triggered the alleged operation. While some users have called for calm, others have demanded an immediate response from EOCO to clarify the situation.
The Economic and Organised Crime Office, which is tasked with investigating serious financial crimes, cyber-related offences, and various forms of organised crime, has yet to comment on the allegations.
Given EOCO’s broad mandate, it remains unclear whether the agency’s alleged interest in the musician relates to a financial investigation or another matter altogether. The absence of an official statement has only deepened public curiosity and debate.
This is not the first time Shatta Wale has courted controversy through his social media posts, but the mention of guns and direct political implications has taken the issue into more serious territory.
As the story unfolds, both EOCO and Shatta Wale are under pressure to provide further clarity to the public.
