Dutch-Ghanaian midfielder Imanuel Bonsu has joined Slovenian club NK Tolmin from United FC, completing the move on 19 August 2026.
The 23-year-old central midfielder arrives after spending the previous two seasons in the United Arab Emirates. He joined United FC from Emirates Club on 9 September 2024, having previously moved to Emirates Club after a spell without a club.
Bonsu was born in Amsterdam and holds Netherlands and Ghanaian nationality. Standing at 1.82m, he is right-footed and has played primarily in central midfield during his career.
His senior experience includes seven appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, in which he played 169 minutes. He also recorded two goals and two assists across 20 appearances in Dutch under-17 competitions.
Bonsu began his development in the Netherlands, moving from Ajax’s youth system to Heerenveen’s youth set-up in 2017. He then joined Utrecht’s academy, progressing through the club’s youth teams before moving into Utrecht’s under-21 side in 2021.
His time with Utrecht’s under-21s ended in August 2022, after which he spent a period without a club before joining Emirates Club in February 2024. He subsequently made the move to United FC, where he remained until his switch to NK Tolmin.
The transfer takes Bonsu to his fifth senior club and continues a career that has included football in the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates and now Slovenia. NK Tolmin becomes his latest club following his departure from United FC.
Bonsu completed his move to NK Tolmin on 19 August 2026.
