Stoke City linked with San Diego’s Ghana defender Manu Duah

Ghanaian centre-back Manu Duah is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from MLS side San Diego to Championship club Stoke City.

Duah, 21, has been a regular for San Diego during the 2026 MLS season, making 19 appearances and starting 95% of the club’s matches. He has also contributed one assist and played 92% of the available league minutes.

The defender has additionally featured three times in the 2025-26 CONCACAF Champions Cup, scoring once, while making two appearances in the 2026 Leagues Cup. He was sent off in both MLS and Champions Cup action this season, with one red card recorded in each competition.

Duah joined San Diego from the UCSB Gauchos in December 2024 after entering the club through the draft. He had previously joined UCSB from Santa Barbara on a free transfer in August 2024.

Born in Accra, Duah stands 1.93 metres tall and has Ghanaian nationality. His current market value is listed at €3.5m, while his contract with San Diego runs until 31 December 2027.

The rumour places him on Stoke’s radar as the Championship club assesses a possible move for a defender who has established himself as a regular starter in Major League Soccer. There is no indication that a deal has been agreed, and Duah remains under contract with San Diego through the end of 2027.
