The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the 2025 school placement exercise will officially begin on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
This was revealed by the Director-General of GES, Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, at a press briefing on August 27, shortly after the release of provisional results for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He explained that students assigned to schools will be required to report between October 18 and October 20, 2025.
To ensure accuracy and fairness, GES has introduced a special review period ahead of the main placement. From September 1 to September 8, candidates can log onto the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal to confirm critical details such as gender, school codes, and programme codes. An explainer video will also be made available to guide parents through the process.
Professor Davis advised parents and candidates to avoid making payments to influence placements, stressing that the process will be transparent and strictly merit-based.
