Bayern Munich have hailed Harry Kane’s 2026 Ballon d’Or victory, with the club’s senior figures describing the England striker’s achievement as a historic and deeply significant moment.
The tributes came a day after Kane collected the prestigious individual award. Bayern’s leadership praised not only his goalscoring record but also the influence he has had on the team since joining the club.
President Herbert Hainer said Kane’s success was a source of immense pride for Bayern and placed him among the most important figures in the club’s history.
“It is a day of pride for FC Bayern. Harry Kane can do everything: he scores goals, more goals and even more goals,” Hainer said.
The Bayern president also highlighted the importance of Kane’s character and his place within the club.
“We are proud that this exceptional athlete and person is part of the FC Bayern family,” he added.
Hainer said Kane should be viewed alongside legendary former Bayern players Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Muller and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, underlining the standing the striker has already achieved at the German club.
Chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen also welcomed the award, saying Kane was a deserving winner. He pointed to the forward’s record of reaching and surpassing major milestones over a number of years as evidence of his continued excellence.
Sporting director Max Eberl praised Kane’s leadership, both on the pitch and inside the dressing room.
“He takes responsibility and is someone the others follow, day after day,” Eberl said.
Eberl believes the Ballon d’Or reflects Kane’s wider career rather than solely the achievements of his latest season. He also said the striker’s success demonstrated the value of persistence.
“You must never give up.”
The comments from Bayern’s senior officials reflect the club’s view of Kane as more than an outstanding goalscorer. They also regard him as an influential member of the squad and a player who takes responsibility for those around him.
Kane, who broke into stardom at Premier League side Spurs, also reflected on the award in a social media message posted on 27 October 2026.
The England international described the ceremony as an unforgettable occasion and thanked the staff and team-mates at @england and @fcbayern, along with his family, friends and supporters.
“Where do I begin? That was an evening I’ll never forget. It’s an incredible honour to receive the Ballon d’Or award after a year full of goals, trophies and special milestones. Thank you to all the staff and my teammates at @england and @fcbayern, as well as family, friends and everyone who’s supported me – this wouldn’t be possible without you all. Thank you to everyone who has sent a kind message, social media post – I appreciate every single one of them. This will live long in the memory.”
