National Service Authority Boss Reassigned to Finance Ministry

The Acting Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance, effective immediately.

Mr. Gyamfi’s transfer comes just seven months after his appointment in January 2025, raising questions within public service circles about the abrupt nature of the decision.

Although the Presidency has not issued an official explanation, sources at Jubilee House suggest the reassignment forms part of a wider reshuffle designed to strengthen the government’s economic management team.

Media reports, however, indicate that challenges with the posting of newly deployed service personnel also played a role. An internal audit of the NSA’s online deployment system reportedly flagged inefficiencies that slowed down the process.

There are also indications of a policy rift between Mr. Gyamfi and his supervising minister, George Opare Addo. While the Youth Development Minister is said to have advocated replacing the current deployment portal to plug loopholes, Mr. Gyamfi reportedly maintained that the existing system only needed improvements rather than a complete overhaul.
