Case Facts
According to Chief Inspector Jonas Lawer, the complainants—who are all members of the NPP—were monitoring the Ablekuma North election re-run when the incident occurred. Upon arriving at the Methodist Church Polling Station, former MP Hawa Koomson and Majeed Saana were attacked by the accused. Security officers at the station intervened to rescue them.
However, the assailants allegedly turned their aggression towards Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei, assaulting him without provocation. All three victims were later escorted to the Odorkor Police Station and subsequently to the Regional CID office, where they filed formal complaints.
Medical forms were issued, and the complainants sought treatment for their injuries. The accused were later arrested but denied wrongdoing in their caution statements. Following investigations, they were charged and brought before the court.
