Rahim Ibrahim scored in each half as Slovan Bratislava defeated Spartak Trnava 3-0 away from home in one of the most eagerly anticipated matches of the season.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring in the 19th minute, finishing a move created by Gambia international winger Suleiman Camara. The goal gave the visitors an early foothold and marked Ibrahim’s third goal of the campaign.
Slovan Bratislava extended their lead before the interval when forward Adam Griger scored in the 34th minute. Armenian midfielder Tigran Barseghyan supplied the opportunity for Griger, leaving the visitors two goals ahead at half-time.
Spartak Trnava were unable to produce a sustained response after the break. Slovan Bratislava controlled the contest and restricted their opponents’ opportunities to reduce the deficit.
Ibrahim completed his double 10 minutes before the end of normal time. The Ghanaian midfielder was played in by Bosnian midfielder Alen Mustafic before finding the net for the second time and securing a convincing victory for the reigning Slovakian powerhouse.
The result allowed Slovan Bratislava to leave City Arena Trnava with all three points after a disciplined performance that combined attacking efficiency with control. Camara and Barseghyan were involved in creating the first two goals, while Mustafic provided the assist for Ibrahim’s late finish.
Ibrahim’s two-goal display takes his total to four goals in seven appearances across all competitions this season. His opening strike set Slovan Bratislava on their way, while his second goal removed any remaining doubt over the result.
The performance represents another positive step in the 22-year-old’s development at the Slovak club. He is becoming an increasingly influential figure within the side, with his growing goal tally underlining his contribution to Slovan Bratislava’s attacking play.
His first-half goal gave the visitors the advantage, and Griger’s finish shortly before the interval provided a strong platform for the second half. Ibrahim’s late goal then completed a result in which Slovan Bratislava scored three times without conceding.
The victory provides Slovan Bratislava with a significant boost as they pursue domestic success. Ibrahim will now look to maintain his scoring form in upcoming fixtures and build on a performance that further strengthens his role as an attacking option.
With four goals from seven appearances in all competitions, the Ghanaian will hope his latest display can provide a foundation for greater consistency and an increased impact as the campaign progresses.
