Ghana will hold a state funeral on Friday, August 15, to honour the eight people who died in Wednesday’s military helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region, President John Mahama has announced.
The ceremony will take place at the Black Star Square in Accra, with full military honours, as the nation pays tribute to the fallen, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
Speaking from the Jubilee House, President Mahama described the deceased as “fallen heroes” whose service and sacrifice must be remembered with dignity.
