Oscar Naasei joins RM Castilla as Ghana defender signs through to 2029

Ghanaian centre-back Oscar Naasei has joined RM Castilla from Granada CF in a €2m transfer.

The 21-year-old defender completed the move on 27 August 2026 and has agreed a contract with the Spanish club running until 30 June 2029. Naasei, who stands 1.85m tall and is right-footed, will continue his career with RM Castilla in Primera Federacion – Group II.

Naasei arrives after one season with Granada CF, having moved there from Recreativo Granada on 1 July 2025. His previous switch followed an earlier spell with Granada’s under-19 side, which he joined from Ghanaian club Emmanuel City in March 2024.

The defender made two LaLiga2 appearances during his career, playing a total of 40 minutes. In the 2026-27 campaign, he recorded two appearances, although he did not start either match and did not score or provide an assist.

His transfer takes him from a club competing in Spain’s second tier to RM Castilla, whose league campaign is in Primera Federacion – Group II. The deal places Naasei within the Real Madrid structure following his development through youth and senior football in Spain.

Naasei’s listed market value is €1.5m, while the transfer fee agreed between Granada and RM Castilla is €2m. The move represents the latest step in a career that began at Emmanuel City before he moved into Spanish football.

His route to RM Castilla has included three Granada-associated teams. He first joined Granada’s under-19 side, then moved to Recreativo Granada, before establishing himself at Granada CF. That progression preceded his switch to the Madrid club at the age of 21.

Naasei is the latest Ghanaian player to continue his development in the Spanish system, with his role focused at centre-back. His new contract keeps him at RM Castilla until the end of June 2029, and the transfer from Granada CF was completed for €2m.
