Kalba FC sign Ghana striker Benjamin Tetteh after prolific Maribor campaign

Ghana striker Benjamin Tetteh has joined Kalba FC from NK Maribor, moving to the United Arab Emirates after finishing last season as the Prva Liga’s leading scorer.

The 29-year-old centre-forward scored 12 goals in the 2025-26 Prva Liga season, earning the competition’s top-scorer award during his time with the Slovenian club. He now continues his career in the UAE Pro League, with Kalba confirming his arrival on 27 August 2026.

Tetteh joined Maribor from French side FC Metz in July 2025. His spell with the Slovenian club followed a loan move to Maribor from Metz during the 2024-25 campaign, before he returned on a permanent basis.

The Accra-born forward began his senior career in Ghana with Tudu Mighty Jet and Dreams FC before moving to Belgium to join Standard Liege in 2015. He won the Belgian Cup with Standard in 2016 and later spent time on loan at Slovacko in the Czech Republic.

Tetteh subsequently moved to Bohemians 1905 and then Sparta Prague, where he won the Czech Cup during the 2019-20 season. He also played for Turkish club Yeni Malatyaspor and English side Hull City before joining Metz in August 2023.

His move to Kalba adds a forward with experience across Ghana, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Turkey, England, France and Slovenia. Tetteh has primarily played as a centre-forward and is right-footed.

Kalba have agreed a contract with Tetteh until 30 June 2028, securing the services of the Ghana international after his 12-goal campaign in Slovenia.
