England captain Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or after a remarkable campaign in which he scored 73 goals for club and country.
The 33-year-old scored 61 times for Bayern Munich, establishing himself as one of the most prolific goalscorers in world football and securing football’s most prestigious individual honour.
Kane played a key role as Bayern won both the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, adding major domestic silverware to an outstanding personal season.
His award recognises another consistently prolific campaign since he joined Bayern in 2023. The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has combined clinical finishing with intelligent movement and an ability to create chances for his team-mates.
Kane becomes the first Englishman to win the men’s Ballon d’Or since Michael Owen in 2001, ending a 25-year wait for an English winner.
The achievement is the biggest individual milestone of Kane’s career, following years of outstanding performances for Tottenham, Bayern Munich and England.
His success brought a memorable evening at the London Palladium to a close, with the world’s leading footballers gathered for the 70th edition of the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
