The Bank of Ghana’s rates also show that the cedi bought at 11.7591 to the dollar on Tuesday, October 6, before selling at 11.7709. Against the Pound on the same day, it bought at 15.5420 and sold at 15.5588.
The latest figures continue a period of movement in the cedi’s exchange rates against major international currencies. They come after the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, said the currency had recorded a significant recovery so far.
Dr Asiama said the country’s external reserves had also been strengthened, while economic activity had gained momentum across different sectors.
He added that growth had become increasingly broad-based, supported by improvements in services and agriculture, as well as a gradual recovery in industry.
“These developments have contributed to creating a more stable and predictable environment for businesses and investors,” he said.
