GES Fires KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster Over Student Fondling Scandal

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has dismissed Charles Akwasi Aidoo, the Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School, due to a viral video showing him in a compromising position with a female student.

GES views the matter with utmost seriousness and has taken immediate action to safeguard students.

“Mr Aidoo has already been removed from office, and prohibited from going to the school while thorough investigations are being carried out,” a statement signed by GES Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, said.

GES assured parents and stakeholders that due process will be followed, and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken according to the service’s code of conduct.

“The appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with the code of conduct of the Ghana Education Service,” it added.

The service also emphasized its commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of students across the country.

“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement read reiterating its dedication to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
