EOCO Grants Shatta Wale Bail Over Lamborghini Tax Investigation

Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has been granted bail by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) in connection with a tax investigation involving his yellow Lamborghini.

The bail, set at GHS10 million with two sureties, was confirmed by the artiste’s media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, also called Sammy Flex. In a video update, Flex assured fans that the management team and legal counsel were working tirelessly to meet the conditions for Shatta Wale’s release by Thursday, August 21, 2025.

“Before proceeding with the case, EOCO has set a bail of ten million Ghana cedis (GHS10 million) with two sureties. I assure you, the dancehall king’s management and legal team are working tirelessly to resolve this,” he said.

Flex further clarified that the ongoing probe concerns tax obligations on Shatta Wale’s Lamborghini and the operations of his company, contrary to reports suggesting other allegations.

The musician was taken into EOCO custody on Wednesday, August 20, following what management described as a voluntary appearance at the agency’s offices to assist with the inquiry.

“Mr. Mensah presented himself voluntarily at the EOCO offices this afternoon along with his lawyer Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations,” the management noted in a statement.
