Ghanaian dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known as Shatta Wale, voluntarily presented himself to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Wednesday to assist with investigations into tax obligations involving his yellow Lamborghini.
The disclosure was made by his media manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly called Sammy Baah Flex, who confirmed that the musician arrived at EOCO’s offices in the afternoon accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo.
“In a statement released by Sammy Flex, the artiste was accompanied by his lawyer Cephas Biyuo and arrived at EOCO offices earlier today as part of an inquiry into unpaid taxes on the luxury vehicle,” the announcement said.
Shatta Wale’s management assured fans that discussions with EOCO officials will continue on Thursday morning and expressed optimism about resolving the matter swiftly. The statement further emphasised that his decision to cooperate voluntarily underscores his commitment to transparency throughout the process.
“Management has urged the SM Family and supporters to remain calm and avoid speculation, expressing confidence in the judicial process,” it noted.
The case has drawn public attention due to Shatta Wale’s high-profile status and the reported tax obligations linked to the luxury vehicle. His team insists that the musician will continue to engage fully with authorities as the matter proceeds.
Supporters have been asked to stay patient as the legal team works to address the issues raised by EOCO and secure the artiste’s release at the earliest opportunity.
