Asante Kotoko fined GH¢5,000 for failing to publish match highlights

Asante Kotoko have been fined GH¢5,000 by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee after failing to publish highlights of their Ghana Premier League match against Debibi United within the required 48-hour period.

The sanction is recorded in the GFA’s latest regulatory update for the 2026/27 season, which details the Kumasi-based club’s failure to meet the league’s media obligations after their Matchday One fixture.

Ghana Premier League regulations require each club to provide video highlights lasting between three and five minutes within 48 hours of a match. Asante Kotoko did not release the required package following their opening-day meeting with Debibi United, leading to disciplinary action.

The Porcupine Warriors have 14 days from the date they are notified of the decision to pay the fine. The committee has also issued a warning that any further breach could result in more serious sanctions.

The ruling underlines the GFA’s enforcement of the competition’s requirements for clubs to make match footage available within the prescribed timeframe. The obligation forms part of the regulations governing teams competing in the Ghana Premier League during the 2026/27 season.

The case relates specifically to Asante Kotoko’s failure to publish the three-to-five-minute highlights within two days of their fixture with Debibi United. The GFA’s regulatory update formally records the offence and confirms the financial penalty imposed.

The club must now settle the GH¢5,000 charge within the 14-day deadline following notification. A repeat offence could expose Asante Kotoko to tougher disciplinary measures as the association continues to apply its regulations.
