Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has called on members to unite after the party’s constituency elections and focus on strengthening its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Congratulating the successful candidates, Mr Moore said their victories reflected their commitment, dedication and hard work, as well as the confidence placed in them by party members.
He praised the newly elected executives for their sacrifices and willingness to serve both the NDC and the people of Ghana. However, he reminded them that their election carried a responsibility to put the collective interests of the party first.
Mr Moore urged the constituency executives to remain humble and committed to the principles and ideals of the NDC as they begin their respective terms.
He said their immediate priorities should include consolidating the party’s structures, encouraging unity among members and helping advance the NDC’s shared vision.
The regional chairman also appealed to candidates who were unsuccessful to stay engaged with the party and continue supporting its growth and development.
“Every member has a valuable role to play, and our collective strength lies in our ability to work together despite our differences,” he said.
Mr Moore said the internal contests should now be followed by efforts to reconcile members and rebuild any relationships affected by the elections. He encouraged party supporters to set aside their differences and work towards the NDC’s objectives for 2028.
He also urged members to support the vision of President John Dramani Mahama, saying the party would achieve its goals only through collective effort and a shared sense of purpose.
The Greater Accra Regional Chairman made a similar appeal ahead of the party’s upcoming regional elections, asking members to show the same spirit of cooperation throughout that process.
He told them to remain focused on the challenges ahead and work together to secure victory for the NDC.
Mr Moore ended his message by wishing the successful candidates wisdom, strength and success in their new roles. He expressed hope that the constituency election results would lead to greater unity and continued progress within the party.
