Sarkodie brought Baba Yara Sports Stadium to life on Saturday, 24 October 2026, as more than 80,000 music lovers reportedly gathered in Kumasi for Rapperholic 2026.
The event, staged in Kumasi for a second consecutive year, attracted fans from across Ghana. Supporters travelled to experience Sarkodie’s music and attend one of the country’s biggest annual music events, with the concert continuing into the early hours of Sunday morning.
A host of Ghanaian artistes performed throughout the night, ensuring the audience was treated to a broad mix of sounds and styles. Dope Nation, AlorG, Cojo Rae, LMB Gang, Mr Drew, Oseikrom Sikani, Lasmid, Arathejay and Sista Afia were among those who took turns on stage.
Their performances helped maintain the energy inside the stadium, while adding to an evening that combined contemporary Ghanaian music with elements of the country’s cultural heritage.
One of the most emotional sections of the concert came when Sarkodie paid tribute to the late highlife legend Daddy Lumba. He dedicated part of his set to the influential musician and performed some of his songs, providing a reminder of Daddy Lumba’s enduring impact on Ghanaian music.
Sarkodie’s own arrival on stage also reflected that connection between tradition and modern music. His entrance combined hip-hop with Ghanaian cultural imagery, including a projection of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, accompanied by traditional music.
The rapper remained at the centre of the event until its conclusion, with the show finally ending at about 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. Before leaving the stage, Sarkodie knelt to thank Kumasi and the fans for their support and for turning out in such large numbers.
Rapperholic 2026 extended beyond a series of rap performances. The concert brought together music fans from different generations, placed Ghanaian culture at the heart of the occasion and celebrated the continuing strength of the country’s music industry.
