The Boardroom Governance Summit (BGS) Africa 2026 will now take place on Thursday, 12 November, after its organisers rescheduled the event from 7 October.
The summit will be hosted at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra under the theme, “Board Committees: From Oversight to Impact.”
Organisers said the change followed consultations with principal partners, speakers and guests of honour. They also said interest in the summit had increased significantly beyond initial expectations, with a substantial share of registrations and enquiries now coming from outside Ghana.
The revised date is intended to give chairpersons, directors and governance leaders from across Africa additional time to make travel and visa arrangements for the event.
BGS Africa Founder and Convenor, Ing. Prof. Douglas K. Boateng, said the international response had changed the character of the summit, which began as a Ghanaian event but had developed into a continental gathering.
“What began as a Ghanaian gathering now belongs to the whole continent. The rest of Africa is coming to Ghana, and we want to properly receive our fellow Africans.
“A short delay is a modest price for a summit that is better prepared, more inclusive and truly continental in reach,” he said.
The organisers stressed that the summit had not been cancelled and would proceed on the new date.
All registrations and tickets that have already been issued will remain valid. Delegate benefits will also be unchanged, including access to the summit, breakfast and lunch, a complimentary copy of Practical Perspectives on the Committees of the Board, and continuing professional development (CPD) recognition for members of partner institutions.
Benefits agreed with sponsors and partners will also remain in place.
Delegates who cannot attend on 12 November will be entitled to a refund.
