Ghana Vs Comoros: Past Results Don’t Matter” – Otto Addo

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says Ghana will not be influenced by past meetings with Comoros as the two sides prepare to face off in a decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier today in Accra.

Speaking to the media ahead of the match, Addo dismissed the idea that previous results, positive or negative, would have any impact on his team’s approach.

“I don’t think previous matches against Comoros affect us,” he said.
“We are not dwelling on the past. Every game is different, and we are focused on what we need to do.”

Ghana head into the fixture just one point away from sealing qualification for the World Cup, but Addo has made it clear that his team is aiming to win rather than settle for a draw.

The Black Stars have had mixed experiences against Comoros in recent years, including a shock defeat at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. However, Addo believes that history should serve as motivation, not a distraction.

“We respect every opponent, but we believe in our preparation and our quality,” he added.

Kick-off at the Accra Sports Stadium is scheduled for 19:00 GMT, with fans expected to fill the stands for what could be a historic night.

With World Cup qualification on the line, Addo’s message is simple: the past is gone, Ghana’s focus is firmly on delivering when it matters most.
