Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has released his 24-man squad for Ghana’s decisive final two matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The team will first travel to Meknès, Morocco, where they face the Central African Republic on Wednesday, 8 October. Four days later, the Black Stars will return home to the Accra Sports Stadium to battle Comoros in their last qualifying fixture on Sunday, 12 October.
The squad features a blend of experience and youthful energy, with key names such as Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham Hotspur), Thomas Partey (Villarreal CF), and Iñaki Williams (Athletic Club) making the list. Captain Jordan Ayew (Leicester City) and Leicester teammate Abdul Fatawu Issahaku are also included, alongside defensive stalwarts like Alexander Djiku (Spartak Moscow) and Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco).
Locally-based talents Prince Owusu of Medeama SC and Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak have also been handed call-ups, reflecting Addo’s commitment to giving homegrown players international exposure.
Ghana currently remain in the hunt for a ticket to the 2026 World Cup, with these two fixtures set to determine their fate. The clash against Comoros in Accra is already being billed as a grudge match, following the Black Stars’ disappointing past encounters with the island nation.
Fans will be hoping the squad can deliver commanding performances to seal qualification and restore belief in the team.
