Final funeral rites for Daddy Lumba set for December 6 at Baba Yara Stadium

The final funeral rites for Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, affectionately known as Daddy Lumba, have been scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The beloved musician passed away on July 26, 2025, after a short illness, leaving behind an unmatched legacy in the Ghanaian music industry.

His passing was met with an outpouring of grief from fans, colleagues, and industry players across the country and beyond.

A one-week observation ceremony was earlier held on August 30 at Independence Square in Accra, drawing thousands of mourners, including top government officials, musicians, and admirers who gathered to celebrate the life and impact of the highlife icon.

The upcoming funeral at Baba Yara Stadium is expected to attract massive attendance, as fans, family, and well-wishers gather to bid a final farewell to one of Ghana’s greatest musical legends.

Organizers have encouraged the public to attend in honour of Daddy Lumba’s enduring contribution to Ghana’s music and culture.
