Youth rally support for Mahama, Vanderpuye

Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency Fritz Baffour has predicted a one-touch victory for President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming November 7 polls.

According to him, President Mahama’s notable achievements during his first tenure of office are evident enough for the good people of Ghana to retain him in office for the second term.

He was speaking at the official launching of an NDC youth group called ‘Organized Youth for Mahama and Oko’ (OYOMO).

OYOMO is a community-based NDC youth campaign group formed with the aim of mobilizing youth within Ablekuma South Constituency to rise up and actively campaign and galvanize support for the president and the NDC parliamentary aspirant.

The event, which took place at the Neighborhood Centre in Mamprobi, a suburb of Accra, witnessed a massive turn-up of NDC sympathizers, youth as well as some party big wigs.

Various leaders, who took turns to address the gathering, charged the youth to be united with a common goal towards effective mobilization of youth within the Ablekuma South Constituency to garner votes for President John Mahama and the NDC in a bid to retain him in office.

Leader of the group, Nii Gideon Hammond in an interview said: “The youth are the driving force whenever it comes to winning elections therefore if they are united and well mobilized to work it will surely bring about victory for the NDC party”.

He therefore entreated all youth within the constituency to as a matter of urgency join the group so as to work towards a resounding victory for the party in the November polls.

Meanwhile, Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, NDC aspiring Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma South Constituency, in an interview expressed optimism for a one-touch winning victory due to the developmental projects undertaken by his predecessor which has positively transformed the constituency during his tenure of office.
