Your pay masters are crooks – Nunoo Mensah to Egbert Faibille

The Coordinator for the Human Security Project in the Office of the President, Brig-Gen Joseph Nunoo-Mensah says Egbert Faibille, Editor-In-Chief of the ‘Ghanaian Observer’ continues to drag his name in the mud and soil his otherwise impeccable reputation at every opportunity only because his paymasters see him as the greatest obstacle to their political ambition of regaining power by hook or by crook to continue with their diabolical agenda of looting state coffers and impoverishing the people.

According to the Security Capo, the paymasters of the editor behaved like hungry wolves when they were in power by pouncing on State assets, stripping them off and selling them cheaply to themselves and their cronies.

The retired senior Army Officer made these comments in an open letter to Egbert Faibille yesterday in reaction to what he deems as attempts to expose him to public ridicule. What drew the Security capo’s ire is a headline publication in the newspaper on Monday 2nd December, 2013 which read “NUNOO-MENSAH DEMOTED, Now Answers to Gbevlo-Lartey”.

Brig-Gen (rtd) Nunoo-Mensah, while debunking the claim that he had been demoted, said the paymasters who Egbert is pleasing through his publications looted the coffers of the state when they were in power. “Ghanaians have not forgotten their legacy of dismantling state enterprises like Ghana Airways and sharing their assets among themselves. Nothing was spared. It included the No. 1 Roman Ridge residence of the Chief of Defence Staff of the Armed Forces which was nearly sold off but for my timely intervention. They had their eyes on the 22 acres of prime land on which the Chief of Defence Staff and the Army Commander’s residence stood and had already penciled it down to be shared out among their cronies. Part of the Naval Base at Sekondi was also to be hived off and sold to foreign private corporate interest. There were many more” he said.

The retired army officer said his new appointment is an indication of the confidence the President has in him, vowing that he will not resign as his detractors want him to.

“I would like to make it very clear to you and your paymasters that no one is going to stop me from serving our people. I will do it as long as I live and God Almighty gives me the strength to do so. It is my sacred duty and I will continue with it till the very end” he added.
