Young convict given opportunity to reform

Asamankese(E/R), April 26, GNA – The Asamankese Circuit Court, has sentenced a 22-year-old farmer to a week’s imprisonment for stealing. Mr Kofi Akrowiah, the Judge imposed what he termed ” a lenient sentence” on Samuel Came who was convicted on his own plea, to enable him to reform.

The court also imposed a fine of 1.6 million cedis on Came. Police Chief Inspector John Gyimah said on April 16, this year, the accused broke into the room of one Mr K. Hinta at midnight and stole property worth 1.255 million cedis

When the theft was detected the following morning, Mr Minta suspected the accused since he spotted him loitering around his house the previous day.

When Samuel’s room was searched, the stolen items were found and he was therefore arrested and sent to the Police station where he admitted the offence.
