YFM to empower youth

Ghana’s number one urban youth radio station, YFM, is set to launch ‘Y-Dialogues,’ the first ever monthly youth empowerment dialogue series today.

This maiden edition of the Y Dialogues series will feature Mr. Tonyi Senaya, a multiple award winning Ghanaian entrepreneur, and the founder/Chief Executive Officer of Horseman Shoes, a footwear manufacturing company in Ghana.

With the desire to create employment for young people with skills in shoemaking, as well as producing high quality locally made shoes, Mr. Senaya will be sharing his expertise and experience with guests at the event.

In an interview with Today, Corporate Communications Head for Global Media Alliance (GMA), Naomi Nelson, said: “The Y Dialogues is aimed at youth empowerment, activism, mentorship, entrepreneurship, community engagement and career development.”

According to her, the maiden edition with Mr. Senaya will achieve the purpose of encouraging the youth to dream big and reach greater heights in life. For us at YFM, these are some of the things that mean the most to us”.

The Y Dialogues is a platform for achievers in various fields to share their experiences with the youth and to inspire them to succeed.

The Dialogues would also provide an opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing.

Tonyi Senaya is an alumnus of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (2012,) and a recipient of several awards and recognitions, like, “The Most Promising Entrepreneur Award” at the 4th UT Bank Ghana Entrepreneurs Award, 2014, “Outstanding Product Award” by African Leadership Magazine and “Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2012” by Waves International and many others.
