What Akua Donkor wrote in Major Mahama’s book of condolence

The founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam AKua Donkor was among political figures who visited the home of slain soldier, Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama to commiserate with the bereaved family.

As required by all dignitaries, they were expected to sign the book of condolence that was placed at a location with the maverick politician and farmer also taking her turn.

Many who saw her seated on the table wondered what exactly she was going to write because she has on countless occasions admitted she is deficient in speaking and writing the queens language.

Few minutes after seating on the desk and receiving applause amidst some photo shoots, she only ended up appending her signature and retired to her seat.

Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama until his gruesome murder was a military officer with the 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties at the Denkyira-Boase of the Central region.

Captain Mahama, according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed by the discovery of the pistol on Captain Mahama mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burnt him in the process.

He has since been has been promoted posthumously to the rank of Major and set to be given a state burial on Friday June 9, 2017.
