West Akyem District builds Internet facility

Asamankese, March 14, GNA -The West Akim District Assembly has built and furnished an internet facility at a cost of 793,627,800 cedis and also completed an early childhood centre at Asamankese with assistance from the Social Investment Fund at a cost of 394,301,031 cedis.

The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Environment, Mr Abraham Odoom, and the Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Yaw Barimah, inaugurated the two facilities at the weekend. Mr Odoom said Ghana had reached a stage when district assemblies should have development plans for the next five to 10 or even 20 years that should be implemented no matter which party was in power. He advocated non-partisan approach to development and expressed regret that people wasted a lot of time doing unproductive things and called for attitudinal change.

Mr Odoom called on the people of the district to co-operate with the District Chief Executive, the district assembly and its staff for the accelerated development of the area.

The Asamankesehene, Osabarima Kwaku Amoah 111, deplored lateness to work and to functions and said Ghanaians should change their attitude to life and put in more at work places to hasten the country’s development.
