We would work to eliminate Kufuor gallons – Prez Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized government’s commitment to end water supply problems in Accra this year.

He made this statement during his address of the State of the Nation Address at Parliament, in the wake of interruption in water supply in some parts of Accra over the week.

The president said four projects are on-going to deliver 65.3 billion gallons of water to support the amount of water distributed daily.

They are the Kpong Water Supply Expansion Project, Kpong-Accra Water Purchase Project, Teshie Desalination Plant and the Tema-Accra Water Project.

He said by the end of the year there would be an end to water starvation in the North of the capital city, Accra which includes Madina and Adenta among others.

President Mahama added that boreholes and other water supply projects are being embarked upon nationally and by 2015 the supply of water would be improved.
