“We are bringing meaningful change to the lives of Ghanaians” – Veep

The Vice President, Mr K. B. Amissah-Arthur, says government will continue to pursue policies and projects that bring meaningful change to the lives of Ghanaians.

Mr Amissah-Arthur made the point on Tuesday when he opened the Horsey Park Lorry Terminal in Obuasi.

The terminal offers ticket-vending facilities and provide for prompt health services for emergencies. It also has an area for the maintenance and servicing of vehicles, among others.

Addressing residents of Obuasi, the Vice President pointed out that “in every district, the government is leaving footprints of development. We are spreading developments fairly and equitably throughout the country as part of our effort to improve the quality of life of Ghanaians”, he said.

Mr Amissah-Arthur noted that the terminal was provided because “as a people-centred government, we believe that drivers need a comfortable terminal to rest and a safe place to park their vehicles”.

“A modern purpose-built facility such as this provides safety for traders and passengers as well as their goods. We will continue to encourage local authorities to provide for the welfare and comfort of the public such as will enhance the quality of life”, he stated.

Highlighting a number of key completed development projects in the Adansiman area, the Vice President observed, “as infrastructure increases the opportunities available to the people, we are confident that it will reduce the over-dependence on mining-related activities”.

Later, Mr Amissah-Arthur also cut the sod for another multi purpose bus terminal at Kunka in Obuasi.

He also formally opened a number of completed and ongoing school projects at Obuasi Senior High Technical School and Christ the King High School in Obuasi.
