Walewale SHS closed down after riots

Authorities have closed down the Walewale Senior High School in the Northern Region.

The indefinite closure follows explosive student vandalism.

The angry students torched a police patrol vehicle to protest the arrest of two colleagues.

They also accused the headmaster of tribalism and staged a demonstration against him on Sunday.

Local reporter with Eagle FM, Ibrahim Mashood, reported that the students have stolen over 50 RLG laptops and other school properties.

According to him, the school’s electricity has been cut off while the headmaster’s bungalow has also been destroyed by the students.
