Man confesses to the murder of security guard,15 others in Upper West

The Ghana Police Service had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a night security guard in the Upper West Region.

One of the suspects, Sherif Abdullai, has confessed to killing 15 people, including three victims in Bole and Banda in the Savannah Region.

According to the police, Abdullai targets watchmen and mentally challenged persons, and his modus operandi involves carrying his victims on his shoulder and burying them in bushes.

Confession Details

– Abdullai claims to have killed 15 people in the Wa municipality since 2021

– He confessed to killing three mentally challenged men and two watchmen in Bole, one mentally challenged man in Banda Nkwanta, and one mentally challenged woman in Bamboi, all in the Savannah Region

The police investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of violence, with the suspect’s victims being mostly vulnerable individuals. The recent discovery of Issah Yahaya’s body, a night watchman found with severe head injuries and a knife on his chest, has reignited fears of a serial killer on the loose.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation

The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to support the ongoing investigation

This case has sent shockwaves through the local communities, recalling similar incidents in 2022 where several night security guards went missing or were found dead under gruesome circumstances.
