Vybz Kartel eyes Accra Sports Stadium for first-ever Africa Concert in December

Jamaican dancehall legend Adidja Palmer, widely known as Vybz Kartel, is reportedly planning a landmark concert in Accra, Ghana, this December, potentially his first major performance in Africa.

Ghanaian sports broadcaster Gary Al-Smith revealed in a post on social media that Vybz Kartel has inquired about booking the 40,000-capacity Accra Sports Stadium, a venue previously used by Ghanaian music stars like Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

If confirmed, this event could be one of Ghana’s biggest global concerts of 2025.

The announcement builds on Kartel’s recent collaborations with Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale, who was set to perform at Kartel’s homecoming concert in Jamaica last December following the latter’s release from prison.

The anticipated Accra show promises to be a historic highlight in Ghana’s music scene.
