US Embassy donate towards Eid-ul-Adha

The US Embassy has donated food items and a ram, to the office of the National Chief Imam, towards the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, which falls on Thursday, September 24.

Madam Melinda Tabler-Stone, the Acting US Ambassador in Ghana, commended the National Chief Imam for his good leadership qualities, and urged him to continue to be an Ambassador of Peace.

She said the US government was very appreciative of the cordial relationship between the Ghanaian Muslim communities and the Embassy, and called for its sustenance.

She pledged the US government’s resolve to continue to provide assistance to help develop the country.

Sheikh Imam Husein Zakariah, Representative of the National Chief Imam, commended the US Embassy for the gesture.

He said the donation by the Embassy was a representation of peace and togetherness existing between Muslims and Christians.

“Islam calls for peace and unity between Christians and Muslims, and the donation is a clear sign of unity existing between us,” he said.
