Unemployed arrested for murder

The Senchi Magistrates’ Court presided over by Mr Ernest Adjarnor, has remanded into prison custody Kwasi Dioe, a 32 year old unemployed for murder and is to reappear before the court on Monday August 17, 2015.

The facts of the case are that, Kwasi Dioe, from Abume village, a suburb of Akosombo fought with the victim Jonathan Kpodo, a 40 year old fish monger from the same village.

The two men were separated, but the suspect later followed up with a sharpened spoon to stab the deceased Jonathan Kpodo in the throat, who was relaxing under a tree.

He was rushed to the Volta River Authority Hospital at Akosombo for treatment but died later on admission.

The body has since been deposited at the Akosombo hospital awaiting conveyance to the Police Hospital, Accra for autopsy.

On July 30, 2015, the community members of Abume village arrested and sent the suspect to the police station.
