UCC has full-proof admission system-PRO

Cape Coast, Oct. 31, GNA- A Senior Assistant Registrar in-charge of Public Relations at the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Mr. Jeff Onyame on Tuesday assured the general public that the university’s system for admission, was ‘full-proof’ and that letters admitting students can therefore not be faked.

According to him, admission letters issued to fresh students are “Especially generated through an IT system”, thereby ensuring that each student admitted, is provided with an original admission letter.

Mr Onyame gave the assurance, at Cape Coast, when the GNA contacted him to ascertain if the UCC had also encountered problems of fake admission letters, as reportedly encountered by the authorities of the University of Ghana, Legon.

Nearly 100 f resh students of Legon are said to have been sent home as a result. The PRO said the university, was however, checking the authenticity of examination results presented by the 3,911 under-graduates formally admitted to the university in September 2006, to undertake various courses. He said any student who is found to have presented fake examinations results, would be dealt with.
