Two persons die on Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta Road

Akyem Junction (W/R), Sept. 27, GNA — Two persons died on the spot and 11 others sustained serious injuries in a motor accident yesterday at Akyem Junction on the Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta Road in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Daniel Dzakah, Western Regional MTTU Police Commander, confirmed the accident to the GNA on Monday.

He identified the dead as Helefax Nyamade, 40, and a six-year old girl who is yet to be named.

He said the accident occurred at 1445 hours.

DSP Dzakah said it was a head-on collision between a Hyundai bus with registration number DS 6597-10 and a private Nissan car with registration number WR 389-10.

The injured, he said, are on admission at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital while the dead are in the morgue.

A police investigation is underway.
