Two in court for robbery

Isaac Ocran, 22 and Fredrick Dadzie ,19 both resident at Mankesim were on Monday, remanded into police custody by a Cape Coast Circuit Court for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.

Their pleas were not taken and they would re-appear on Monday, November 19.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Charles Anku told the court presided over by Mrs Florence Kai Otu that, the complainant Mr Kojo Oppong a 28-year mason who also resides at Mankesim was confronted by the two men at about 0300 hours last Thursday when he was on his way home after seeing his wife off.

He said, the two men ordered Mr Oppong to give them all the money he had on him, but he told them he had nothing on him, compelling the accused persons to beat him up severely.

Chief Inspector Anku said after the act, Dadzie pulled out a pair of scissors from his pocket and threatened to stab Mr Oppong whilst Ocran searched the complainant’s pocket and managed to take an amount of GH?25.00.

The Prosecutor said in the process a witness appeared at the scene and assisted the complainant in arresting the two and they were taken to the Mankesim Police.
