Two Fulanis convicted for robbery

A Tamale Circuit Court presided over by William Appiah Twumasi has convicted two armed robbers on their plea of guilty for robbery.

The trial judge has however deferred their sentences to October 20, 2016.

Dauda Yakubu and Nuhu Abib Yakubu both aged 20 were arrested on Wednesday afternoon after they attacked and robbed a motorist at Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Northern region.

The two who are Fulanis by extraction, were arraigned before the court according to the Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Ebenezer Tetteh and pleaded guilty to the charge.

Upon their arrest, police found on them, a locally manufactured pistol, face mask, one ammunition, talisman and a drivers license document.
