Thomas Partey Charged with Rape and Sexual Assault by Metropolitan Police

Arsenal and Ghana international midfielder Thomas Partey has been formally charged with multiple counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by the Metropolitan Police Service, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)has confirmed.

In a statement, the CPS said the charges follow a detailed investigation and submission of evidence by detectives. The offences are alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.

“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives,” the statement read.

“The Met has issued a charge and requisition to Thomas Partey, 32 (13/06/1992), of Hertfordshire, in connection with the following offences, five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.”

Partey, a high-profile Premier League figure, joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 and has since been a regular feature in both the club’s midfield and the Ghana national team.
