Two die in motor accident

Accra, Jan.30, GNA – Two persons on Tuesday died on the spot when a taxicab with registration number GW1702 W ran into another vehicle on the Korle Gonno Beach road in Accra.

One passenger on board the taxi died while three persons, who sustained injuries are receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Joseph Ayi, an eyewitness whose brother was among the deceased, said the taxi was part of a number of vehicles attending the burial of their friend at the Awudome cemetery when the accident occurred.

He said the taxi veered off the road and somersaulted, knocking down an old man, who was believed to be in his 60s killing him instantly.

The Korle Bu Police told the GNA it was investigating the accident.
