Twelve injured in accident at Nkurakan

Nkurakan (E/R), Nov. 27, GNA – Twelve persons received various degrees of injuries when an Urvan Bus on which they were travelling from Somanya to Koforidua veered off the road and entered a house at Nkurakan on Tuesday.

All the injured, including the driver had been sent to the Koforidua Regional Hospital.

According to an eyewitness, the vehicle with registration number GT 3106P was from Somanya direction and upon reaching Nkurakan another Urvan Bus with registration number GW 9460U in a bid to overtake it hit the rear of the vehicle.

It then veered off the road and descended into a house adjacent to the police station where an old couple and two women were sitting, causing severe injuries to them and the occupants of the vehicle. The driver of the car number GW 9460 U was in police custody, when the GNA visited the scene but the police refused to give out his name or allow reporters to talk to him, pieces of the broken windscreen, parts of the shattered building and blood were scattered all over the scene.
