Twelve arrested in Sekondi for narcotics

Twelve people have been arrested by the Sekondi Drug Law Enforcement Unit (DLEU) for the unauthorized possession of narcotic and would soon be arraigned for prosecution.

They are Beatrice Eshun, 21, Kwame Akora, 29, Joseph Cudjoe, 44 and 40-year-old Theophilous Ampong.

Others include Yakubu Yusif, 21, John Kwofie, 23, Jonathan Famiye, 25, Jawud Mohammed, 19 and Moro Isaiah, 35.

The rest were Kwabena Yeboah, 46, Abdul Basit, 19 and Dominic Kolocrachie, 34.

The DLEU said the suspects were arrested in separate operations at Tanokrom, Effiakuma, Abenbebom and Amanful in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

The police also retrieved huge quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp from them.
