Mr. Isaac Kweku Sam, Komenda- Edina-Eguafo –Abrem (KEEA) Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has urged Ghanaians to rise above tribal, political and religious differences, and with a united front, propel the country’s transformational agenda forward.
He said what the country needed most in addressing its challenges was a common vision, and that although the citizenry had their own beliefs and ideologies, it was very necessary that they did not allow them to divide the nation.
Mr. Sam made the call when he reviewed the 58th Independence Anniversary Parade held at the Jubilee Park in Cape Coast, under the theme “Achieving Transformation through national Unity.”
More than 600 brigade, cadet corps and school children, drawn from basic junior and senior high schools, under the command of Master Francis Adjei of Edinaman Senior High School, took part in the parade
Mr. Sam noted that the growth of the nation depended on the willingness of policy makers and politicians, to compromise and offer concessions, and therefore urged them to have a common vision and agenda.
He added that it was also the responsibility of both leaders and citizens to work together as partners, to achieve unity and the development of the country.
He appealed to school children to take their academic work seriously, to justify investments made by the government and their parents, as well as avoid engaging in social vices, such as drug abuse and premarital sex.
Edinaman Senior High, Methodist “B” Junior High and Teory Preparatory Schools, were respectively declared best in the Senior High, Junior High and Primary School categories.
