TRADER CHARGED WITH STEALING

Tema, Feb 8, Kwasi Antwi, a trader, yesterday appeared before a circuit tribunal in Tema charged with stealing a hand bag containing 1,030 dollars and other documents belonging to two Korean businessmen here. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody until February 27. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the tribunal, chaired by Major Jacob Abobor (rtd), that on January 31, this year, the two Korean businessmen, Mr Man Gil Jang and Mr Joan Hyum Lee, parked their vehicle to buy pineapples near a place where the accused person was selling car seat covers. Inspector Nutakor said when the Koreans returned in five minutes, they realised that the hand bag containing the money and other items was missing and they reported the matter to the police whose investigations revealed that the accused took the bag.
