Trade Minister rescues little Blessing Yeboah

Accra, Feb. 5 — Minister for Trade and Industry, Ekwo Spio-Garbrah on Wednesday donated the sum of 10,000 Ghana Cedis for little Blessing Yeboah, a three-year old child diagnosed of a hole-in-heart condition to undergo full treatment.
This was after the minister chanced upon appeals by TV Africa for people to help the little girl undergo treatment.
The minister said he had been touched when he heard about the plight of the minor, and also that TV Africa had been able to raise 12,000 Ghana cedis out of the total 22,000 Ghana cedis being sought for the treatment of the little girl from the Brong Ahafo Region.
The minister presented the cash donation to officials of TV Africa in the presence of relatives of the little girl, to make up the difference after what TV Africa had been able to raise from the public.
With the contribution of the minister, the little girl can now undergo treatment at the Korle Bu Cardio centre.
The minister averred that he thought if even 22,000 Ghanaians donated one Ghana cedi each, the amount for the girl’s treatment would have been realised.
“I pay tithes and make donations and this one, I was moved to give my monthly salary for the treatment of the little girl,” Spio-Garbrah told newsmen, Wednesday night. END.
