NSA Reopens Registration Portal After System Audit and Overhaul

The National Service Authority (NSA) has reopened its registration portal for the 2025/2026 service year following a directive from President John Dramani Mahama to conduct a technical and forensic review of the old Central Service Management Platform (CSMP).

The review uncovered several irregularities and technical flaws in the previous registration system, prompting the rollout of a new digital platform built to enhance data security, real-time verification, and transparency in national service administration.

According to a statement from the Scheme, all registrations completed in June 2025 have been declared invalid due to detected data inconsistencies, including discrepancies in applicants’ ages and personal details.

Prospective national service personnel are therefore required to re-register on the new system when the online portal opens on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and closes on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

“All legitimate applicants from the previous registration will receive refunds of their service fees,” the statement assured, adding that the official registration site is www.gnsa.gov.gh.

The new service year officially begins on Saturday, November 1, 2025, with personnel expected to report to their assigned organisations by Monday, November 3, 2025.

The NSS indicated that the latest reforms are part of a broader initiative to prevent payroll fraud, improve operational efficiency, and ensure prompt allowance payments.

“The Authority has implemented robust IT reforms and internal controls, and we are working with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to enhance financial accountability,” the statement noted.

Beyond streamlining postings, the Scheme says it is broadening opportunities for graduates through specialised programmes such as the Youth in Agriculture Initiative, developed in partnership with Agrimpact Limited, and Community Improvement Programmes (CIP) focusing on health, sanitation, literacy, and voter education.

Additionally, the NSS has partnered with both local and international private sector organisations to expand job placement avenues and provide employability training under the Service Personnel Skills Capacity Training Framework, designed to help graduates transition smoothly into the workforce.

Detailed guidelines for the registration process will be available on the NSS website from Tuesday, October 7, 2025.
