Three suspects arrested over conflict

The Brong Ahafo Regional police have arrested three suspects who allegedly shot three people to death at Kranya in the Pru District.

Briefing the press in Sunyani Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP) Christopher Tawiah, the Regional Public Relations Officer, mentioned the names of the suspects as Olumani Limpo, Wahab Dramani and Munkaila Seidu.

He said they had been remanded into prison custody and the bodies of the deceased, Tanko Dramani, 35, Solomon Kwadwo Manu, 51, and a 50-year-old farmer Kwame Owusu, have been released to their families for burial.

It will be recalled that on October 22 a group of Gonja youth with guns and offensive weapons from Tarekpa village in the East Gonja District went to Kranya to resolve a dispute over ownership of some lumber on a piece of land .

In the process a misunderstanding ensued and there was an exchange of gunfire which resulted in the death of Dramani.

Some irate Gonja youth also revenged by killing Manu and Owusu which nearly sparked off a tribal conflict but police intervention restored calm.
